Our Farewell
April 15th, 2007
Since i have been living in Solihull i have made the most amazing friends. I love going to work as once i am there we constantly talk, banter and laugh from the minute we arrive to the minute we leave. The women i work with have been the most true, honest and beautiful friends one could want. I have enjoyed every single minute and would not change one single day.
I was lucky that my best mate Bex shared not only her house warming do but her birthday with me. Once again there was the usual female chatter of what outfits with what hair styles and finally with what shoes to wear. I was spoilt as my friend Callie bought my dress for me.
During the day Hayley and i slaved away in the kitchen making many Australian Delights. Now those who know Hayley and i would know that we are not Jamie Oliver’s so to make Lamingtons, Anzac Biscuits and Fairy Bread can be slightly stressful. But we conquered the kitchen and our delights not only looked fab but they where very popular ( not the vegemite sandwiches though)
Once Steph and Callie came over we all made our way to Bex and Chris new and beautiful home. As we where the first to arrive we where quite shy about the cocktails but half and hour later Steph and Callie where in full swing. Hayley and Steph had an agreement to go drink for drink. Brave move Hayley Im surprised she didn’t notice that nobody was up for that challenge.
When all of the other gang arrived i was most spolied with loads of cards, presents, hugs and tears! I think my favourite gift out of the necklaces, purses, balloons and brooches was my Rod Stewart key ring and my microphone ( thanks Trud but i still don’t think Rod is sexy ) It didn’t take to long before i noticed Steph, Callie and Beth downing 5 made up shots in a row. I have never seen Steph’s head move like that before.
With my microphone in hand i could finally sing TNT by ACDC to Steph with all of the gang encouraging me ( thanks guys, and thanks Leevi for filming me…) Bex than took over to give the most emotional goodbye speech for me. Well bring on the tears…or sobbing! It was around this time i decided to stop drinking, as Leevi contiuned, Beth threw up into Bex garbage bin, Steph balled and Callie impressed us all with her bottom shaking dancing.
The night ended with Dave and Leevi in deep conversation about Australia performance in the World Cup, Beth and Adam leaving with Bex’s garbage bin, Callie escorting a very drunk Steph home, Em taking Harry home, Trud, Hayley and i all eating fairy bread on the floor and Bex dancing with her other friend’s in the lounge room.
I am so honoured to meet every single one of my friends, they have made life in the UK so enjoyable! I love every single one of my friends with all of my heart and i will miss them all so much. Therefore they all have to get married all in the same week so i can come back over!
Enjoy the pics of my very special night - ( They may be a few)
Camp Echo Trail in the UK
April 15th, 2007
A few years ago i spent a couple of months in the USA as a camp counseller in a Girls Scout Camp, where we had to sing constantly for our dinners!
Whilst i was there i made some really wonderful friends from all over the world and we are all still good mates 7 years later.
So whilst we are in the UK what better time to catch up with Thistle aka Verna and Big Bird aka Elaine. Thistle cruised on down from Aberdeen on Thursday and we caught up after work. After several bottles on wine we where talking and cackling all night long. It was also good to chat about the old times that i had honestly forgotten about.
Then on Friday Elaine ventured up from Bath with a cold! I was so proud of her and so honoured that she still came up and put her health second. So once again with wine glasses in our hands and Indian food in the other we talked and laughed about the past the present and the future.
It just show’s that great mates can catch up after years with laughter.

Ringtones on buses, Shut it up CHAV scum
April 11th, 2007
For those of you who know me you will realise that I am quite a tolerant person. However nothing really aggravates me more than the little 14-18 yr old chavs who get on the bus with the latest AKON & Eminem remix blasting from whichever mobile mummy and daddy have bought them.So to all the bus riding chavs (99% of the overall chav population) here’s a couple of thoughts to take on board…For gods sake no-one wants to listen to your brothers hip-hop remix through a shitty little phone speaker, no matter how good you think it is. Show everyone on the bus a little respect and buy a pair of headphones. If you don’t have any cash cause you spent it on cheap booze and drugs use the headphones that came with your phone.
Trudie’s Farewell
March 5th, 2007
Last Saturday night was the much anticipated party of 2007. My dearest and best friend Trud said her goodbyes to Lush.
Trud has been a wonderful friend and i will miss her a immensely. Especially our Thursday together where we discuss fashion, Sixties and how one day we will have our own Vintage Boutique where we will learn how to sew. LOL ( those who know me will be laughing their heads off by now about the sewing comment.
On a serious note Trud has become one of my best friends and i will miss our constant laughs and her famous big hugs and loud laugh. It can be very daunting to leave your own country and try and meet new people but i think i have lucked out very well.
Anyway the night really started weeks before hand Bex, Turd and i discussed our outfits in minute detail. Then we started with a few quiet ones a Wetherspoons and made our way to Hall Green Greyhound Race Track. Leevi thought he might wear his beigh jacket so he could mingle with the locals. Well i had one gamble but it was Trud’s night as she won on all the races except the last. So after the doggies had finished up for the night we made our way to Brum’s famous Indie night club Snobs. As we left Hall Green we watched the Lunar Eclipise. After a few dances in the mow town room we tucked into a kebab - well salad kebab for me then home to bed.

When I was your age I walked 2 miles to work in the snow
February 9th, 2007
Although it was not barefoot Sarah and I have both been walking the whole or a partial way to work in the snow. Finally I can start talking about how hard we had it in our day.
