Canterbury

June 22nd, 2006

Today Lou and Rich took us to Canterbury to see the heritage listed world famous Cathedral. It was truly amazing not only the Cathedral but the whole city itself. It oozed history you could just imagine the pilgrims making trips to the city.

Leevi and i went on a guided tour throughout the Cathedral grounds and around the city centre we were the only Australians on the tour and probably the only couple under the age of 60. We now know all about Saint Thomas who was murdered in the Cathedral and how expensive it is to send your children to the private school which is situated amongst the Cathedral grounds.

Oh we also saw the old dunking chair which is a chair that hangs over the canal in the middle of the town. This chair was used as punishment in the middle ages for those who liked gossip - (Leevi and Shaun would have been in big trouble)

We really liked Canterbury and will defiantly be going back as i want to do the Canterbury Tales experience!

Pics and more text to be added soon!!
