We’re going on a summer holiday!!!
March 23rd, 2007
Today our interail ticket arrived… you know what that means 30 days train travel anywhere in Europe. Hurray!!
The plan is to travel from Istanbul to Paris in with 4-5 day stops in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, France and finally back to the UK.
In my mind this is going to be one gastronomical adventure with more goulash and other traditional meals than one man can handle. Stay tuned for more

Saint Patrick Day Week - Part One
March 14th, 2007
Birmingham has a large Irish community therefore it has the second largest St Paddies festival in the world. So we are in the right city!
The festival actually start’s one whole week early so we ventured out for the second day to see the St Paddie march. The festival is held in Digbeth which is the Irish quater and what a sight it was to see. Our bus had to take a small detour as so many street where closed to traffic as the human traffic was huge!
We caught up with Trudie and Dave amongst a sea of green cowboy hat’s, flashing badges and Irish flags. So we ventured into three pubs in total whilst guzzling Guiness and dancing to some Irish jigs.
Enjoy the pics but hang in there as we will part two for the actually St Pat day.
Trudie’s Farewell
March 5th, 2007
Last Saturday night was the much anticipated party of 2007. My dearest and best friend Trud said her goodbyes to Lush.
Trud has been a wonderful friend and i will miss her a immensely. Especially our Thursday together where we discuss fashion, Sixties and how one day we will have our own Vintage Boutique where we will learn how to sew. LOL ( those who know me will be laughing their heads off by now about the sewing comment.
On a serious note Trud has become one of my best friends and i will miss our constant laughs and her famous big hugs and loud laugh. It can be very daunting to leave your own country and try and meet new people but i think i have lucked out very well.
Anyway the night really started weeks before hand Bex, Turd and i discussed our outfits in minute detail. Then we started with a few quiet ones a Wetherspoons and made our way to Hall Green Greyhound Race Track. Leevi thought he might wear his beigh jacket so he could mingle with the locals. Well i had one gamble but it was Trud’s night as she won on all the races except the last. So after the doggies had finished up for the night we made our way to Brum’s famous Indie night club Snobs. As we left Hall Green we watched the Lunar Eclipise. After a few dances in the mow town room we tucked into a kebab - well salad kebab for me then home to bed.
Enjoy the pics of my friend Trudie aka Truds, Strudel and Mrs Cushion
Delayed: Jamaica Inn, Glastonbury and finally Stonehendge
March 2nd, 2007
Sorry about the month delay but it’s finally here day 2 and 3 of the Great South West Tour.
So after a refreshing night sleep back on the road, geared up with hot soup in Leevi’s new birthday thermus on our way to Glastonbury… but not without a few pit stops along the way.
Our first stop was the legendary Jamaica Inn a coach house situated high in the Bodmin Moors. The famous author Daphne du Maurier immortailsed the Inn and some of it’s clientele. So after a few pics and a leg stretch it was only a short couple of hours drive to Glastonbury.
