Our last few weekends have been out and about on the town in Birmingham, i don’t really have much to say so i guess that you will most likely have a giggle at the pictures.

Our first weekend was with the company of Brooce and Lisa who both made a gallant effort to leave London last mintue and party in Birmingham. They drank Fosters on the train with strangers and meet us out on Broad Street at a club called Revoultion. I think they arrived at about 10pm with their over night bags in hand but ready to enjoy cheap wine and nasty shots. This night ended with a trip to the fish and chip shop for chips with mushy peas and kebabs.

The weekend just passed with a two massive nights out with Mel and Hayley. I came home on Wednesday after another interview only to be greeted by the girls with four bottles of cheap Christmas wine - Red Christmas and White Christmas. We soon became quick friends of this delicious wine as we drank them five nights in a row. I think the lady who owned the bottlo was happy to see the Christmas stock from 2005 was finally disappearing.

Our Satuday night out was again on Broad Street but this time we went to the Aussie pub The Walkabout. The bouncers we actually quite impressed to actually meet some real Aussie’s as we were the only Aussie’s in the entire pub so it was a bit of a novelty. We danced the night away to a band called The Invisible Mullets as they belted out  dagggy music with our house white’s in our other hands.

Once again we made our religious trip back to the fish and chip shop ( no shoes on) although this time i was a bit experimental and had mushy peas on a salad kebab yumo! And mushy peas and chips for Mel.

Our Sunday night out was a girls night, this night we went to the China quater which is loaded with Gay bars and Eighties bars not knowing the area or the bars we started at Club Reflex which is a club totally devoted to the 80’s. I have never been to a bar that has life size posters of Kylie and the Hoff but we had a ball drinking krafte’s of Woo Woo with our musical straw’s and nasty cheap tequila whilst dancing to Madonna and Mel playing her blow up guitar.

We then made our way to a club called the Moon Loungue only to bump into Ed and Sang so here we enjoyed cheap vodka and red bulls and the boy’s company. Although i think a certain person - Mel really  enjoyed a certain person’s company LOL Here once again we danced right up until closing and didn’t get ourselves to bed until after 4 in the morning. We had a blast!

Warwick Castle

August 30th, 2006

Oh english weather.

You would think that after living in the UK for the last three months we would have our very charming wind cheaters at hand. No this wasn’t the case as we enjoyed our rainy then sunny then rainy day at Warwick Castle. I have been wanting to go to Warwick Castle for months, it was on my Things To Do List so i was most excited to see that it was on our train line and only a 20 minute ride

When you get off the train you make your way up through the quaint town of Warwick to be greeted by the huge gates of the Castle. By this time i was super excited as i could hear the clashing sound of swords in battle ( im a history nerd i know it ) beacuse of school  holidays they have extra entertaiment for the school children and nerds like jousting, battle fights, bird of prey shows and the world’s largest trebuchet.

Well Leevi and i are currently into our second week of Cat / house sitting right in the beautiful Midlands the ‘Heart Of The Country’.

The lovely Victorian home we are caring for is in such a great location only a 10 minute train ride to the centre of Birmingham or one stop away from the Solihull town centre. So we are taking advantage of the fresh fruit and meat markets, the great shopping or the relaxing walks along the canals.

Paintball at NRG Kent

August 15th, 2006

I will admit i am the biggest girl’s blouse you will ever meet, so after making several excuses not to do paintballing all failed i had to face the fact i was just going to have to bite the bullet and give it a crack.

In the car my legs shaked the whole way to the paintballing grounds, and then it didn’t help to see two huge black great Danes greeting us at the gates upon arrival. Therefore Richard and i though it would be safer if we sat in the car and send Leevi and the birthday girl Lou into the grounds to investigate.

Leevi and i had four fun, exciting but very exhausting days in London.

We decided to pack up and leave Maidstone to catch up with friends, sight see and party London style.

Leevi and i spent our first day and night right out of London in the West Ham. We loved the atmosphere of this suburb the different cultures, people and most importantly the food. As we were on the out skirts of the city the price of living was considerable less which we loved. We were able to go out to dinner for only £2 per person, we loved it.

We spent our second day and night back in the city, sharing a room with eight others in a Youth Hostel right across the road from Kensington Gardens. Being so close to the famous gardens we went to explore our new surroundings which included Princess Diana’s Kensington palace, followed by a yummy dinner of noodles - Very English.

Our third day was a wonderful day of catching up with friends, which we both needed and enjoyed immensely. We caught up with Gwladys and John on a very hot day at Waterloo station. Being such a hot day we all thought it would be beneficial for all to make our way to a lovely cool pub. It was a great day catching up over fish and chips and lot and lots of beer , wine and more beer. After a teary fear well, quick freshen up at the hotel then back to Canterbury Street to catch up with Brooce and his friend Bron for more drinks and cheap pizza.

Our last day was action packed from once again moving our huge back packs to a new hostel in the hot weather to seeing the Globe Theatre, Saint Paul’s Cathedral and a HUGE night of drinking with my evil buddy Lisa in Camden. The Globe Theatre was amazing. Both leevi and were amazed at just how beautiful the theatre was and the best part was that we were lucky enough to watch the cast from Anthony and Cleopatra warm up. Leevi and i made our way over to the beautiful Saint Paul Cathedral, after exploring the catacombs and church we climb right to the top of the Cathedral 500 plus stairs it was hard work but the views payed off.

After all of that exercise it was time to party with the party queen herself my best buddy Lisa. We meet up in her home town the funky and exciting town Camden. Lisa took us to her famous local were many famous musicians hang out after meeting her lovely friends and singing to the likes of Powder Finger and Spider Bait. It was a huge night and maybe i partied a little to hard therefore feeling a little bit ill on the tube.
